Released by Wizards of the Coast in late 1998, the Demo Game booster pack contains what is considered to be the first English Pokémon cards to hit the United States 

24 cards from Base Set are included, as well as a copy of the rules. Despite being the first cards to be released, they do not feature the 1st edition stamp but resemble Shadowless Base set cards
